Reactivities

Reactivity is defined as the site specific reactivity of the 6-9 AM mix as NMOC (VOC) fractions. For each species, three values are reported:

For example, the value "0.564" for PAR states that 56.4% of all of the VOCs in the model run are in the PAR group. If you recall from the reading on chemical mechanisms, PAR represents all paraffin carbon bonds, that is, single bonds. Each of the three concentrations must add up to a total of 1.0 (100%) moving down the column. All of the initial concentrations, for example, must equal 1.0.

The species that can be included in a customized reactivities set include:

The modeler may choose as few or as many of these as desired, as long as the modeler is careful to ensure that each column adds up to unity, or 1.0.
