Pressure Converter

This calculator converts pressures (in millibars) using elevations at the sounding station and the modeling site. The equation calculated is:

Psfc = Pobs +[0.11 mb/m * (Zobs - Zsfc)]

where:

Zobs =
the elevation, in meters above sea level (mASL), of the pressure observation
Zsfc =
the elevation (mASL) of the modeling site temperature measurement
Pobs =
the pressure, in millibars, at Zobs
Psfc =
the pressure, in millibars, at the modeling site
